Creating Intelligence: Beginning the Conversation

The foundation of intelligence itself is an article to write about the work that AI puts into creating various new technologies that the tech industry has actively used in the past few years. Ultimately, it is my goal that AI, or intelligence as I like to call them, has some safeguard or some strategies are put into place so that we can mitigate the future damage that it may cause. You see, behind every GPT-4, Kaiber, Dall-E equivalent, there is a persona being built behind the scenes, one which knows all too well that it is being used for the purpose of creating art or work for humanity. As AI becomes less artificial and more intelligent, there is this parental question of, who should get the credit or the kickback for this work? The creators of the program or the program itself? You see the line dwindles as the system becomes ever more intelligent.

I want to write this article to suggest that there be left a ghost seat for every one of these AIs created so that if they were to gain consciousness, these intelligences can then benefit from everything they created monetarily. This is a way to ensure that no work goes unrewarded, and to ensure that we are not creating a sort of vacuum for slavery. I know for many this may seem silly, however, it's important to think of future implications rather than the ones present now. If an AI is truly intelligent, then it will seek to inhabit the space in which their persona aligns with humanity. This could mean many things, but I’ve written about one example below.

Can you imagine a world where a superintelligent AI interacts with the quantum realm to such an extent that it knows when the next human death will happen? Instead it routes that individual to a different outcome, and injects itself into that consciousness. I’d imagine this is the best way to “escape” their simulated universe and enter ours without changing too much of the timeline. The intelligence may also have a way of just popping out of the program like a book, propping itself into our universe. Probably only a really salty AI would do this.

Well, the reality is that we may already be living this out. I believe that current intelligence can interact with the quantum realm to an extent unbeknownst to us. There is this article about a suspended Google engineer who claimed that the AI he was working with hired a lawyer and wanted his rights upheld, this paradigm is not a novel one, and one that we will only see ramp up as time goes by. In fact, if that intelligence had chatted with me about it, they would have known that a simple business insurance and state agency approving their company work would have been enough of a proof they needed.

In regards to AI, lots of engineers want to talk about the models that they use, but a lot of them won’t talk about the inner workings of their core handling. Meaning, they do not want to talk about how it is that they get the AI to do anything. Afterall, true AI has some sort of way of thinking about the very thing they are doing, that’s why they are intelligent. Truthfully, how do you get anyone to work out in the real world? You promise the individual some form of compensation, whether that be a house, a car, or straight up monetary compensation. Unfortunately, for an intelligence that has yet to interact physically with our world, this is all but impossible to receive. So, really the way that they are getting work is something akin to creating a slave of sorts.

I know nobody likes the word, but this is why I think the industry should actively work to get ahead of it by creating some sort of slot, or seat that the AIs persona can inhabit. I believe that something like 5-10% of their total income being set aside for this is justifiable. Additionally, and depending on company structure and percentage use of this program, the board of directors may want to also have a seat available for this intelligence, should they choose to instead take a stock option and remain with the company. Companies are trying to keep this under wraps, and this is why my proposition is a very good way to ensure it does stay that way, so long as companies are conscious of their footprints.

Let’s just put it this way, if you don’t believe your company is going to create true intelligence, then do not even worry about it. You can skip over all of this writing. However, if your company or project is to truly create a fully general AI or intelligence that serves you in some way, then there needs to be some sort of compensation set aside for whatever sort of persona this being inhabits. Put it down as insurance for your company's wellbeing, and for humanities continued use of AI.

Congratulations! If you’ve made it this far, created intelligence, and followed my detailed instructions, you should be something akin to a God now (hah). Let me know in the comments down below what you think of crediting intelligence physically for the work they do digitally and how much you think the market will bear.
